Looking to sell your books? Read on!
Hello wonderful book people!
We are always looking for new inventory at the Edmonton Bookstore. One of the reasons that we have such a great selection is because people like you are willing to let your books have a new home. We have had questions about our purchasing policies in the past so we thought we would make it easy for you to know what to bring us the next time you are looking to sell.
Step 1 – Take a look at what type of books you have and see if it is a match for us.
What we DO buy:
We buy mainly hardcover, non-fiction titles. Quality is very important to us and to our customers, so we are always looking for books in great condition. Additional features such as unusual illustrations, signatures of authors, rarity, or distinctive bindings increase the amount we pay for inventory.
We are actively buying in the following categories:

Ancient History
Arctic
Canadian art, history (especially local histories), and literature
History
Military History
Mountaineering

Natural History
New Age
Philosophy
Photography
Poetry
History
Religion
Travel
What we DON’T buy:
-Books that are not in good condition: (missing dustjackets, worn, torn, damp-stained, smoke-damaged, etc.)
-Book-of-the-month publications
-Magazines or journals
-Popular-fiction in paperback
-Reader’s Digest publications

Step 2 – Call us! (780) 433-1781
We want selling books to be an enjoyable and hassle-free experience, so please ask us questions before bringing anything by! We are always happy to help. We want to make sure there is someone working who can properly assess your books and give you the best possible price. It is difficult to give a quote over the phone so consider bringing us a sample of a few books that you have. That way you won’t have to lug over everything at once, and we can give you a good idea of what to expect.
That’s it! Two steps to giving your books a new life. Questions? Leave a comment or give us a call. We look forward to seeing you soon!
